Clarendon Street Playground

Our neighborhood playground, at the corner of Clarendon Street and Commonwealth Avenue, provides a wonderful setting for families to congregate and get to know one another. Neighborhood families who regularly use the playground view it as a community treasure. Local schools, whose students come from all parts of the city, also use this outdoor play space almost daily.

NABB’s Playground Committee contributes to the general upkeep, maintenance and renovation of the park. The Playground Committee also organizes a year-round schedule of social events, including the annual family Halloween and Opening Day parties.

In summer 2007, the playground underwent a $120,000 renovation, which principally refurbished the playground’s unique but aging amphitheatre seating area. The Playground Committee is working closely with the Parks & Recreation Department to study the need and funding options for further renovations to the park’s play structures to ensure that this wonderful and highly utilized space remains safe, functional and vibrant. The Playground Committee is always seeking new volunteers.
